Cairns Men's Shed

Cairns Men's Shed is a community group for men in the Cairns area. Our clubrooms are like the shed you wish you had in your back yard, but we cater for all kinds of people and have a huge range of facilities to suit.

Our goal is to keep men happy and stop them from sinking into loneliness or depression. We do this by encouraging men to work side-by-side and talk with each other.

Any male aged between 18 and up may join. You don't have to be a practical person because we have a range of social activities, computers and a model railway.

What We Do

Monday to Friday 08:00 – 12:00
Saturdays 08:00 – 12:00

You may stay later on Saturdays but the use of all powered machinery must be stopped at 12:00 – in respect of our neighbours.

As a matter of course we are closed every Sunday, Christmas Day, Good Friday nd Anzac Day however this may be altered at the discretion of the Management Committee. The closing time may be altered on the day as all members are volunteers BUT in any circumstance there must be two persons at the shed at any one time.

FEES

The current fees (subject to change) are as follows:

Annual Fee $35
(the majority of which is your insurance cover)

Nomination Fee $50
this is a one off fee however if you fail to renew your membership within two months of it being due you may be required to pay this again.

Amenities Fee $3
this is a weekly fee to cover consumables including but not limited to tea / coffee / milk / biscuits / toilet paper / cleaning products.

Power Fee $3
this is a weekly fee that only applies if you are using power tools and working on a personal project not one for the shed.
